In-N-Out is no where near as progressive as you think

So I recently saw a post praising In-N-Out Burger for it's “progressive pay” and the prices for the food in this subreddit. This post will come off as extremely ranty as I get so worked up about this company, so I apologize for any spelling errors. I've worked for INO for over 7 years and its nowhere near as great as you think it is. The pay is always just enough to work their instead of McDonalds, BK, Carl and other fast-food locations and its almost always impossible to make it to fulltime unless you're a higher level and desire to make it into management. The more fulltimers at a store the less money the Store manager makes from their paychecks incentivizing them to keep the number low. The culture is extremely toxic and almost runs as an “Old Boys Club” only recently have I seen the culture slowly allow women and POC into upper management. Its also riddled with dialogue about “being a family” and how the associates in the store are the ones that pay for everything. The corporate side/upper management is extremely anti individualism and only just last year were associates allowed to have tattoos, though they need to be covered, and don't even get me started on piercings or the uniform. For a multi-billion dollar company only recently did they start giving their associates uniforms (which are all white) and from what I know you need to do your own laundry for your all white pants (It's different for all the stores). Like many other companies, HR isn't on the associates side as I've heard and seen so many stories about managers and older associates sexually harassing female associates and treating others terribly without any repercussions. In-N-Out also treats their delivery drivers like garbage as well as their clean-up crew (I don't have the full story about that). The company is also not an ally to the LGBTQ+ community as a whole and lot of the associates that are Trans I've seen dressed out as their birth assigned gender rather than what they identify as, and I've never met or seen an LGBTQ+ manager. I don't have the patience or writing ability to cover everything about this privately owned multi-billion dollar company, but please don't but it on a pedestal. It deserves just like every other fast food company to be brought down and rebuilt to have better treatment and respect for their workers that make all the money. We Food Industry Workers need to Unionize and take back our pay and rights as human beings.
