Food Rights is A Privilege

At work today I experienced a conversation with my manager telling me and my co-workers today that we have lost our “food privileges” meaning that we can't order food while on break because one person left trash in the breakroom. I work at a restaurant where food is easily obtainable and half the time we're so busy we don't get a break long enough to get food from an outside source. This “food privilege” ban means when we work doubles which are an average of 12-14hrs in a day, we can't order food either. On top of that my friend's pregnant girlfriend works here also and was also told she could not order food and that just because someone has low blood sugar doesn't mean anything because our well-being isn't their responsibility. Now to lay the icing on the cake recently we haven't been able to keep kitchen staff due…

I didn't know eating food was a “privilege” and not a basic human necessity.
