Boomer coworker wants everyone to be drug tested and thinks we shouldn’t be allowed to use our phones

I work in a CNC machine shop and the job is extremely easy. Load the material into the machine, press the button, unload the machine, rinse and repeat. There is allot of down time depending on the machine you are running, some allot more than others. For that reason we are allowed to play on our phones pretty much all day at work as long as the machine is running. Also allot of my co workers smoke pot including myself and this place doesn’t do Pre employment drug testing only tests if you hurt yourself or crash a forklift. It’s a really cool company, very small so we don’t have to wear masks and your pretty much left alone as long as your work load is completed. Very little management and over head, there is only a handful of people above me. The company pays well to starting at entry…

It’s a really cool company, very small so we don’t have to wear masks and your pretty much left alone as long as your work load is completed. Very little management and over head, there is only a handful of people above me. The company pays well to starting at entry level at 15, I got in at 20 but feel i undersold myself because I didn’t realize how easy cnc operating would be and should have asked for the 25$. Overall a good job though and I got very lucky. For someone who is lazy when it comes to making other people rich and hates jobs this is the best possible job I could have. The 3 breaks gives me enough time to be stoned my entire shift to watch YouTube videos.
Yesterday before we were clocking out this 62 year old man came up to me going on and on about how everyone just sits on there phones all day and that it’s insane that they don’t drug test. I laughed and said “I know multiple people here who play on there phones and smoke pot all day that run laps around you here”.
Thankfully the boomers seem to be leaving the workforce because there is no reasoning with them to change there ways with the times. I can’t imagine wishing worse working conditions on yourself because “it’s the way it should be” and there “when I was your age” stories.
