I recently retired from the insurance industry (yippee!). It used to be, employers checked if an employee claimed to have a college degree. Not so much anymore. When I left, roughly 30% of the team had lied about having degrees. These folks freely admitted this to non management within “the group”. As an aside, there really weren’t many apparent differences in performance between these folks and others who actually had degrees, except perhaps writing skills.
