So I (F29) work at a non-profit
Preschool as director of education.
There are two co-directors and my
counterpart is a man.
I have more years of experience, a
bachelor’s and master’s degree, I
supervise one more classroom than
him and I have more direct reports than
anybody in the organization. My
counterpart has 12 credits and no
degrees. We both get paid the same,
even with all of this disparity. They are
about to open another classroom at a
different location that they are adding
to my workload.
I asked for a raise and they said what I
was asking is over budget for my
position and they’ll get back to me.
Any advice? I know it isn’t technically a
salary gap because of gender, but
getting paid the same with 2 degrees
more, more experience and a higher
workload? It’s bs
