Invited to company party – is it okay to not go?

So yeah, in a few days there will be a party with co-workers. I like partying, I just don't like most of my co-workers. When I'm at work I pretend I like them because I have to. I have been to their parties before and I asked my friend to pick me up early because I was too bored. Most of them are 20 or 30 years older so I really don't have much in common with them either. One of my co-worker asked me if I am going to the party. I simply said “I will think about it, but I can't promise anything”. She said she will get sad if I don't go because “this party is going to be so fun and you have to be there!” – well, I know it won't be fun because as I sad I really don't like most of them, and…

Also I have nothing to talk to them about. I really don't care about their husband, kids, what they studied when they went to school etc. They are my co-workers, not my friends. Sorry for this negative post.

But yeah, is it okay to not go?
