Basically the heading. Paladin is a terribly managed company who completely mishandled the covid pandemic. Managers were all working from home pretty much asap, while most of the rest of the office staff were forced to continue to work on site. I worked in a large room that housed 3 teams, so they moved two of those teams out in order to “comply with covid protocols” but moved both of those teams to a much smaller conference room and set us up facing each other so that we were all breathing at each other. One staff member had a girlfriend who returned from a trip in China and was ordered to isolate at home, he requested to be able to work from home temporarily and was promptly denied. So he tried to just use his PTO to stay home instead and was told if he didn't continue to come in he wouldn't have a job anymore. Plus said conference room was freezing cold, everyone had to wear sweaters, coats, and some even bundled up under blankets. After about 2 weeks of constant complaints their solution was to take one of the managers space heaters used to keep their toes warm and expect it to somehow heat the entire room.
Eventually they moved us out of that room and gave us each our own office (gave away the managers offices as they were working from home anyways) and that lasted a couple of months until the work from home order was rescinded, then we were all booted out and set up in the lunchroom instead because the managers “needed” their offices back. None of the managers actually returned to the office, they just didn't like the idea of us working in them. So at that point we're crowded into the lunchroom, and a few weeks later they get the bright idea to take away the microwaves in order to lessen possible surfaces that covid could be spread on. This lasted for about 2 weeks until someone noticed that we were warming up/defrosting our food by leaving it outside on the patio, just left scattered around on the ground in the sun.
After moving us into the lunchroom they suddenly decided to let only their favorite staff work from home, almost none of which were considered at risk and all drove to work compared to the rest of us who took public transit. One of the people allowed to work from home was so unreliable that their supervisor had to constantly monitor them and listen in on their calls to make sure they weren't giving out false information, something that couldn't be done anymore as they were at home, they also logged out 15 minutes early for every single shift even if their relief had not yet arrived. There was another staff member who was allowed to work from home and was actually at risk, that lasted for about a month before being forced back into the office for no discernable reason. It eventually came out that the reason was that they wanted someone in the office in case their supervisor was late as there “had” to be someone in the office for that position at that time of day. Then 2 weeks later that same supervisor was granted work from home privileges because they had family come visit from out of the country who needed to isolate.
If all that wasn't bad enough, they forced the entire team to take a paycut at the same time they sent out an email detailing raises for all their healthcare workers and informing all office staff that anyone who had been working from home was going to be able to apply for a tax benefit due to having a home office. One member of the team refused to sign the paperwork authorizing the paycut and was fired a few days later. Meanwhile they had staff they refused to fire who had been banned from entering the properties of half their clients for a variety of reasons ranging from harassment to falling asleep on the job.
So screw Paladin Security. Anyone who is considering working for them should reconsider unless they are willing to kiss the asses of their managers so enthusiastically that they permanently stain their noses brown.
