I think people *do* want to work hard…

…they just want hard meaningful work. Doing something with our lives fulfills as humans. We want to produce, construct, and make use of our bodies and minds. We need to do this. But vapid email jobs, stupid busy work, jobs that produce nothing meaningful for society and only exist because Presidents needed to inflate society with jObS to fulfill election promises…absolutely, no one wants this soul-sucking shit. There are even jobs that are hard to do, no one wants to do them, but they're still meaningful and valuable. Sanitation, etc. It's just that horrible working conditions make them unbearable and destroy any meaning or satisfaction that could be gleamed by the job. Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber goes more into this. But just wanted to open a discussion. Feel free to share your thoughts!
