Don’t work in the music industry

Just don’t. I just started going to school part-time while working full-time in the music industry (Los Angeles) so that I can enter a new field and get out. Some of the most toxic work cultures I’ve ever experienced. Undervalued, underpaid, and gaslit when complaining about making unlivable wages at 50-60 hours a week by being told that we should be grateful for even having a job in the industry at all. I’ve been working in a half-capacity team and have just been told I’ll only be getting a 2$ raise this year, while my peers in other departments in comparable roles have since had a 7$ per-hour raise. I thought my love for music would counter the sub-or working conditions, but all it did was kill my love for music altogether.
