Hi, so I'm a videogame developer with a bunch of titles and stuff, but nothing official regarding beta testing games (in my country there are no studies related to that either now that I think about it).
However, these past years I have been applying to many beta tests and sent reports of the bugs, glitches and all that stuff to the development teams. I haven't been paid for that and I have never had a contract with those development teams, I just got into as many betas as I could and worked hard on reporting all the bad stuff I could find.
The thing is those were betas that, even if they were not open, anyone could have applied and tried them.
I understand that maybe this could count as a volunteer experience? It's just that a company sent me an email asking for more info and asking if I had been working on the games I beta tested, and trying to not say anything that could make them think bad about me, I just wanted to keep it simple, so I wanted to say “yes, I was a beta tester on those games and helped the development teams blablabla”.
Personally I think that my answer is true and not misleading, I did do that. However I want to know if you guys think I should specify that I was kind of a volunteer or something? Thanks in advance
