I need help/advice

I’m a 23f who works as a part time manager in a women’s clothing store. I’ve made the decision to leave because I only make 13 an hour I have full time hours without pay or benefits I work an inconsistent schedule My boss is an ass (I’m in the process of finding another job) But it’s come to my attention that several people I work with have had some terrible experiences with the store manager. I’m a 23f who works as a part time manager in a women’s clothing store. I’ve made the decision to leave because

  1. I only make 13 an hour
  2. I have full time hours without pay or benefits
  3. I work an inconsistent schedule
  4. My boss is an ass

(I’m in the process of finding another job)

But it’s come to my attention that several people I work with have had some terrible experiences with the store manager.

Here’s a small list of stuff he’s done/said:

I should state that he never wanted me as a manager. I was instated as a manager while he was out on medical leave. Because I was basically the only person left who knew how to run the store. I was the only one who 100% knew how to use the register. I was the only one who knew how to fix online order issues. Me and the full time manager held the store together while it was trying to cave in on its self. And every manger who came to visit from other stores where confused as to why I wasn’t a manager. Our full time manager thought I was a manger for 2 weeks when she was first hired because guess who helped train her.

Anyway as soon as he got back, he started telling our full time manager how he thought I wasn’t a good manager. But could never explain why when asked.

When I confronted him about it, he said that they did me a disservice by making me a manager. (Keep in mind before this I was working 80 hours in two weeks for $9 basically doing the same shit)

Our full time manager was in so much pain the other day that she was crying. She was deathly pale and I asked if she needed to go to the ER. She said no. (She later ended up going) Store manger called during this and when she explained what was going on, was told to take a bunch of pain meds and stop crying. She can’t even take pain meds because of the blood thinners she’s on. (She’s also had 2 strokes possibly brought on by stress in the store less than 3 weeks ago)

Also told the full time manager point blank when she came back that he did not care about her situation.

One of our newer employees was having an issue with the register. She asked one of the other employees if she knew how to fix it. Both of them where stumped so they went to ask our store manager who was off talking to a costumer. He proceeded to ignore both of them and continue his conversation. (It was just a casual conversation) So they had to come grab me, which at the time I was clocked out on break. It took maybe a minute to diagnose the problem and fix it.

Left employees that where called in to work freight at the registers so he could go chat with his “friends” costumers.

One Saturday we were super busy. I was on the register with another employee for over 2 hours it was so bad. Finally we got a break in people, so while we where cleaning up the counter we decided to chat with another employee who’d had a successful date. We where behind the register counter for maybe 2 minutes before the store manager yelled across the store at me to get everyone from behind the counter. I stepped to the side and said quietly that he wanted us away from the counter. Apparently we weren’t fast enough because not 2 seconds later he was marching towards the counter and yelling, pointing at us to move. Also keep in mind that he’d been talking to our full time manager for well over an hour in the front of the store. Not helping a single customer, doing go backs or anything.

Said one of the employees 2 weeks notice was worthless and threw it out. (Also told her she didn’t need to bother coming in anymore after 2 weeks was put in.)

Told one girl her hair was ugly when it was put up in a pony tail.

Told me that I needed to stop showing I was in pain when my knee acted up. (I fucked up my knee in 2020 and on occasion it starts hurting. Usually I take 3 Advil and limp the rest of the day.)

Played favoritism with wages of employees. The ones he hired and liked got paid more. Some of them didn’t know you could discuss your wages. I told them it was a labor law that they could.

Told another employee that she was to slow to be on the register.

Refused to let us train an employee on the register for 6 months. She only got trained after he went on medical leave.

Constantly treats us all like where idiots even though we know more about the computer system than he does.

Employees who want extra hours won’t come in if he’s working.

3 people have left because of him. No one can stand working with him. But to my knowledge no one’s contacted HR.

I don’t know if I should call HR right before I leave and tell them that he makes everyone miserable. (I’ve never even contacted HR before) I’m not sure they’ll do anything? He’s friends with our DM. So much so that when our full time manger complained about him not doing things. DM told her that she’s going to have to do that for him.

The other thing is that I’m concerned he’s going to do a which hunt. The last time I’d told him a specific name when complaining about him talking behind my back, he proceeded to go an chew HER out the next day.

What do I do? I guess is what I’m asking.
