So my manager, who has worked for the company for 44years is resigning and the company wont even get him a gift, farewell card and wont even pay him a proper farewell dinner.
I have arranged my own gift for him and will give it to him at an appropriate time however Im just disappointed by the company and their shitty attitude towards this.
I even managed to arrange a farewell dinner free of charge for him and my team mates dont want to come because they dont want to accept anything for free.. like wtf i feel like this is a massive disrespect. I've been told by my colleagues to stop discussing it as it puts everyone in an uncomfortable situation I just dont understand why it would make anyone uncomfortable!!
Last month we had a coworker pass away from cancer who worked for the company for over 50 years and they did fuck all. Didnt even arrange flowers and I was the first person to find out he passed away and insisted on organising the appropriate flowers… i had all my teammates saying that i didnt even know the guy and that the will arrange flowers… they did NOTHING. They went to the funeral empty handed !!!!
These companies are a joke and honestly im just so upset by this…
