Went in today for a part time job at a gas station. First they decided to send me to another store instead. Whatever. Second, they offered perfect hours, well someone quit so we gotta rearrange it. Ok but you're working around my availability, I'm not stressing to be here. Ive worked for the person before at a different company but still gas station. So she has me on one day of training then next day by myself for half shift. No big deal but geez not looking great. Then she said the funniest thing I've ever heard.
“They send the training videos to your email. So you can just watch them at home, whenever, while your playing with your kids.”
I laughed.
No hun. I'm not doing that. I'll watch them here, on the clock, thanks.
There are three stores of theirs fighting for me. Offering jokes for wages and hours. I've turned it all down. I know what I want. Part time, my availability, within a reasonable distance. I'm helping you here, you're the desperate one, not me. I have another interview for a job that starts $6+/hr more in 3 hours.
