As the title says—
6 months ago I started a new job as a CRA (clinical research associate). HR wrote the letter with the title CRA and pay.
First day on the job I was told to help out as a receptionist cause no one was there to help. I thought it was a one time deal. I emailed HR after two weeks asking for why this is happening this is NOT in any paperwork. She ignored it and I took documentation of that. Now fast forward 6 months later I’m still being a receptionist lol haven’t touched research at all. My supervisor has zero balls and said “it just takes time to develop your new role.” HR said in a verbal meeting two weeks ago, that is true it takes time.
Okay so why did you fucking hire me with that intention of being in research? If you weren’t ready why didn’t you just say that?
I wasted 6 months being a receptionist I have zero skills to show to another employer about this time.
The head of research found this out yesterday and screamed at management saying why the hell isn’t my employee allowed to work for me . Good thing right? Instead of speaking about this as a group communicating to the receptionist supervisor and HR communicating that I am needed truly in research this person is off on vacation and won’t even say anything.
I was 10 MINUTES late one day this week and I was given a verbal warning (documented via email man so how is that a verbal warning?????) stating I’ll get fired if I repeat this.
HR has the time for this on vacation but can’t do her job in being transparent about the position or even coordinating it? Or at least getting this shit on track?
What do I do man?
TLDR: I was hired for a position in research but am doing receptionist work. I was given a warning for being late will I be able to quit but not get a bad reputation ?
