Here in IL a 30 minute break is required per 7.5 hrs worked. The company I work for is constantly denying or ignoring our legally obligated breaks and nothing is done about it. I have called my area leader and she claims ” we take working breaks.” I have called h.r and they claim that their policy doesn't break the law, but they are constantly breaking the law. Now for the proof. We have a “break on” button on our registers that we are suppose to use to document our breaks. I have worked for the company over a year and only used the “break on” option, once when I demanded a break on a very scuffed shift. So basically my company has absolutely no record of giving anybody breaks because they don't. This is also a company issue and not a location issue as I know it's happening at several store's under my area leader. Does anybody know how I bring consequences on them for all this? There is substantial proof they have been breaking and will keep breaking Illinois labor laws.
