Shower Thoughts.

I'm fairly new here. I see a lot of posts shitting on specific ads, and sometimes specific companies, particularly large ones. No real issues there. But I think it's worth pointing out that the real issue is the underlying structure. The economic system is designed to put any employer who pays above “fair market value” in an untenable position. Even if you name is Doug Macmillon, there's no way your shareholders will allow you to pay all “associates” a living wage. Capitalism can only function if it creates more problems than it solves. Pay people too little? Lot of poverty. But that's also an “opportunity” to hire a bunch of people below (the ever nebulous) “fair market rate”. Rinse. Wash. Repeat. In short – these companies can't pay a living wage, or they will cease to exist. “Well good. If you can't pay a living wage, they shouldn't be in…

Agree. My issue is we need to crash this fucker faster.

We cannot do that if we are still clinging to hope that things will improve in any meaningful way while simultaneously maintaining the status quo of western lifestyles.

The only way out is through. Literally.
