Posting this because I am frustrated. So for background info, I am in university and I needed a job on the side because I need to pay two rents right now because my previous landlord refuses to end the contract and I am heavily in debt but still want to survive. So I decided to help out at a horse farm. I was scheduled all alone for one day. I was scheduled one hour before opening and was scared I wouldn't get all horses back in on time for opening. I texted my boss in concern and she just said “Show up earlier if you think you can't manage it” but I wouldn't get paid for it because it's outside of my hours.
So I show up. I have one hour to feed 50 horses, take them from the meadow, bring them into their stables and and clean up in time. Normally we are a team of 5 and it takes 20-30 mins to do that. So I am rushing as fast as I can and I absolutely can't manage it. I am panicking and my boss walked out and yelled at me to be faster. Didn't offer support or all or grabbed any horse. Also we have 5 different big stables and sometimes it takes 5 mins to walk from one to another. And with horses I can't just run next to them because they get scared otherwise.
The nightmare happens and it was 10 mins post opening. Customers walked in and their horses were not ready yet. And the entire stables were still dirty. Customers complained to me about the dirt and having to pick up their horse from the meadow themselves and I had to bow down to everyone and apologize. Then my boss walked out and told everyone that it's my fault because I am too slow.
There was one family who started helping me doing the rest of my tasks because they felt sorry for me. I later cried in the break room because of this. This is my 2nd job ever and I get treated like shit. I can't quit because I too much in debt.
