The urge to quit is as high as the rent.

To make a long story short, I work at a local BBQ joint, and it was great, up until the last few weeks, and it feels like it's going a corporate route. Can't sit while doing some tasks all of a sudden (because standing lurched over, while pouring 60+ cups of sauce shows customers that “we're hard workers” lol), when everyone was fine with it, knowing I can't stand long (had a hamstring taken from my leg, to replace what was holding down my collar bone, from an accident 10 years ago.), the customers in the area LOL act like you are sincerely beneath them, and instead of defending myself from an asshole customer yesterday yelling at me for literally doing my job, my boss interfered and simped to them, and I would've never, so insulting. Same asshole customer forgot his shit on the counter, so I threw it at…

Same asshole customer forgot his shit on the counter, so I threw it at him when he came to grab it. Idgaf anymore.. I even walked by a meeting for my bosses, heard by earshot that “the customer is always right” as I loudly cackle saying “Nope. No they are not”.

We had no choice, but to move an hour west of where my job was. Everywhere is asking for 3X whatever the rent is, and welp, we don't make anything near 3X the rent lol, so we are living with a friend. Takes me a half an hour to charge the car when I get to the area, and an hour to, hour back, so I'm losing 2 1/2 hours per day I work, for this. And oh, there's no employee parking, so I park where the bosses do (and there's room, but nO eMpLoYeE pArKiNg), because I'm not getting a ticket, and have to come up with another $60+ for said ticket lol nah. But, I'm over it. I'm supposed to work in 4 hours. Wasn't told until the afternoon yesterday, so gee, good thing I didn't make plans with my veteran husband yet.. lol I'm in the process of getting a new job, but they're all basically the same nightmare. For the last 20+ years I've worked, “get a new job” isn't as effective as people think it is, when it's jammed in our faces, for speaking out of exhaustion.

So yeah, super tempted to bail, and find somewhere else, because I'm shot. Mentally, physically, I'm all set.
