Hey all! I hope this is the appropriate place for this. Like the title says I’m strongly considering a new job, but can’t shake the guilty feeling about leaving current company. Some background, I’ve been with current company for 4 years, first job out of college. I don’t have too many complaints or anything major – this new job would promote me and give me a significant pay raise and they provide way more career development and growth opportunities so it’s a no brainer, so why do I feel guilty thinking about leaving my current company? I like the people I work with so maybe it’s just my anxiety about trying to figure out what to say to my manager and how to quit. I am trying not to care too much because I know they will just replace me, but it’s hard to shake those feelings. I guess I’m more or less venting than asking for advice. Maybe some helpfully advice would be how to approach the topic of accepting a new job with my manager. I will give 2 weeks. I’ve never quit a job before so I don’t know how to approach it, especially since everyone is working remotely now, it seems less personal than it used to be. I know this hew opportunity is a great move for my career, so I just don’t want to feel guilty.
