Employer requested medical test records

Work and live in the US. I felt like shit and went to the doctor today and found out I have COVID. Most places I know have gotten more lax about COVID (at least Texas) and my company definitely follows this belief, but luckily I’m getting to at least work from home since we’re 100% in office, which is something I could complain about in another post. My question is: Can employers make you give them medical tests showing the test came back positive? Or legally just take our word for it? My employer asked for the test and I gave them a copy which isn’t a huge deal, but at a minimum I felt like a 10 year old with a doctors note. For what it’s worth, I work for a large family owned private company.
