Unions protested, got a “raise” at work so I quit

EDIT: I can’t believe so many people in ANTIWORK are going against a worker of the service industry because of.a pay change cutting their pay in half. This place needs Doreen back a real champion of worker rights. I work at a restaurant on the water. It’s a small strip with about eight restaurants and a few stores. Some union or whatever have been “protesting” wages of the restaurant workers. About a month ago due to pressure from local politicians my restaurant moved the wait staff from $15 and hour (which is actual minimum wage, much higher then tip minimum wage) to $22 an hour. It was big news and the restaurant put in the menu something about higher wages. Now the guests don’t think they need to tip or tip well. Went from making on average $57 an hour aper pay check to $29 an hour . I quit…

I quit and got a new job which I averaged $72 and hour for my first 3 days.
