Was my boss more concerned with patio furniture than dealing with the issue? Yes. (Not exaggerating)
Will my current job retaliate if they find out I’m looking for another job? Yes.
Will they be even more pissed when they find out the other job had been scouting me for a month? Yes.
Will I say I make a little more than I actually make in this interview to get offered more? Absolutely.
Do I or my new young black coworker deserve to be called Monkeys by the same old salesman at my current position who has a history of this kind of Discrimination? HELL NO.
I’m angry, disgusted, excited, and nervous all at the same damn. This new position has made it clear they need me and I can’t wait to speak to them and see what they have to offer. You deserve better too.
When I eventually leave this position regardless if it’s with this company or not, and they start telling all their employees I was too lazy and didn’t want to work despite getting a raise 3 months ago for my performance, my old coworkers will laugh knowing the truth. 3 already left in the last month. I’ll be 4th.
