I’m giving notice today without a job lined up

Two weeks notice, and that is because I do truly respect the people I work with and don’t want to burn bridges. I don’t have a new job because I’m so exhausted from working the one that I do have that I can’t search and find another one. I have enough in savings to live conservatively for 8-10 months. I’m scared but I’ve had enough. I love my coworkers but I just lost 2 staff from my team and they came in yesterday and said my role would be changing and I would be doing outreach (read: getting friendly with hospitals and agencies so we get more referrals) which requires travel. I’m not in the best physical health and that’s the exact opposite of what I need. My mental health is suffering. It’s time to find a WFH gig, even if I take a pay cut. I haven’t been unemployed…

I haven’t been unemployed since 2006. It’s not the smartest move I’ve ever done, but I don’t see anything improving if I stay where I am. Something will come along if I work hard enough to find it. I have a schedule planned out (after I take a restful few days to decompress from the next two weeks) for every weekday with job review and application goals, a chore goal daily, a planned nap, and at least one trip outside the home daily. I got this…

I hope.
