It was busy so this waiter was telling him to suck it up because he didn't want to close early. No idea why the waiter was even telling people what happened but that just makes me super uncomfortable. Was he expecting that people would demand that they stay open? Probably, since he was asking people if they were wanting food and trying to say he'll tell the cook to keep going if they did want meals. I'm assuming they also had some kind of manager position.
I don't know why I am even suprised by it because that sort of mentality has been part of ever hospitality gig I've had and OH&S has been mostly non existent in every café I've worked at. Like, I legitimately are more worried about getting hurt in a kitchen than a factory. Anyone else have similar experiences like that in terms of risk to safety?
