Please put some thought in before pulling a “F*** this – I’m Out!”

TL:DR – Don’t just assume and force your abrupt departures on your friends and families. Discuss stuff with them first. Work sucks, I know. A lot of management, owners, and even some co-workers treat people with disrespect and it is understandable to want to jump ship because no one wants to be treated like they’re garbage. Dream jobs are just that – a dream. Most of us dream of not working, so a dream job is a bit of an oxymoron. Unfortunately currency is the way of the realm and to be able to afford things like food, housing, clothes – one needs to provide some sort of product or service to society. I preface with the above two paragraphs, because I know of at least three separate ‘groups’ of people that refuse to work anything they deem ‘beneath’ them and are now basically forcing themselves back onto their parents…

I preface with the above two paragraphs, because I know of at least three separate ‘groups’ of people that refuse to work anything they deem ‘beneath’ them and are now basically forcing themselves back onto their parents / guardians to support because somehow that makes sense in their head.

The sadder of the two instances is the dad of the guy that had to come out of retirement so that he could pay the sons mortgage because the son refused to get any job that was not in his direct field. How the fuck can you live with yourself knowing your almost 70 year old dad had to rejoin the workforce because you didn’t feel like working anything other than your niche line of work?

Most recently my brother was frustrated because he overheard his wife and their daughter talking about the daughter and her boyfriend moving back in with them because the boyfriend walked out on his job and they both refuse to work anything under $20/hour and nothing in the service industry or warehouse type work. They’re under the impression they are going to move back and smoke week all day and eat all their food while looking for a unicorn of a job. Brother already told me they’re in for a rude awakening because they will not be moving back in without having stable jobs and he will be charging them rent and groceries.

Sometimes you have to work less than desirable jobs if you don’t want to be hungry and homeless. It’s sucks, but it also shouldn’t be a shift of burden to your family or friends. Majority of the workforce in the lower and middle class have worked less than desirable jobs for many years. You wanted to be part of the “I Quit!” Movement, accept the outcome without hindering others.
