what does “antiwork” mean to you?

I don't know you. You don't know me, but I'm sure we can both agree that words can mean a lot of things to a lot of people in many different ways, even if they're the same words. For example, if you seriously ask someone what a friend is for, you'll get all sorts of answers specific to that person. So let's clear some things up, try to understand one another in this ever growing sub. What does the term “antiwork” mean to you? To me, I understand money is the root of a lot of things. “The grind”, “the game”, whatever ideology behind the hustle for more income means very little to me. It's not just simply the money, what does money entail? Everything, it's a means to an end whether it be a service, item, or the chance to live with freedom. Freedom to me is what's important,…

Freedom to me is what's important, you can't go anywhere or do anything without money or someone paying for you. Rent, food, clothes, games, and even education. Simply being alive means you need money, I don't accept that but it what it is. There will always be things out of your control, even if you think you own the world, the street, the shop, your own mind is the only claim you have. Not your body, as with age living freely becomes a thing of the past even for the homeless. So antiwork means finding the best way for your mind to survive. “If you love what you do you'll-” well all know the saying, work is work, as an adult I dislike others who feel the need to say how grown they are. I'm only 25, I live alone, I've been adult for 7 years. Whopdeefuckingdo I'm a 7 year old adult, I pay taxes, I pay bills, doesn't mean shit. You'll never know everything, but are you happy in life. Anti work means being happy in life outside and inside of work, you'll always need income unless you've got it better than most and hopefully it doesn't create an entitled piece of shit but life is life. Broad, uncut, harsh, and unfair but that doesn't mean you have zero choices or zero time to any thing, a lot of things are slow builds like finding your lifestyle and yourself as a person. We all want conditions to better, understandably and there's some ways to do that surely but I don't have the answers, it's a human problem, needs a collective mind to solve it. And there's truly no way to solve it, there will always be a bottom and a top, we can make it better for all but not all. Individually we must find hakuna matata and be content not just with life but ourselves.

Thank you. For coming to my ted talk
