I was at Costco buying things (also these prices are getting insane these days) and I decided to get a whole pepperoni pizza. Cashier told me it'll take about 30 minutes since it was a Saturday and heavy traffic. I didn't mind waiting. I waited 30mins before coming up to the window to see if my pizza is ready or not. The worker told me to give it another 10mins. No problem. 10mins passed and so I came up to the window again. This old man to the right of me was also waiting for the worker to attend our tickets for the pizza. The worker kept working because of the high influx of pizza that needed to be put in boxes and sliced up. I didn't want to bother him because he not only served 2 people before me, but those 2 people got multiple boxes of pizza. And I realized he may be backed up on his workload because the single slice pizza shelves were getting empty. I stood there for several minutes and the old man said to be “Man, he doesn't even look at your or say anything. He needs to come serve us”. I replied with “Well, he has a lot of work to do so I am not going to bother him. I'll just wait until he has time”. He replies with “Oh no, I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the worker”. I replied with the exact same thing I said and he looked at me dumbfounded. Sure, it took a while for the worker to attend to our tickets but I sure as hell am not going to pester someone who is trying to their job for my convince.
And yes, I got my pizza and it was good. I waited nearly an hour for it but now I get 2 days of food for me.
