epiphany: some jobs simply should not exist

I really want to hear other people's opinions on this. Humans are known to create some really messed up things. Inventions like cigarettes and nuclear bombs. And many occupations. And there are jobs that are extremely draining (mentally, emotionally, physical) or even dangerous. Call center jobs Skyscraper window cleaners Fast food jobs I understand that the industrial Revolution created a lot of jobs. And because of this, we don't have to hunt etc. It's convenient to just go to Wendy's and order a salad than to own a farm so you could make all the ingredients. I understand that the industrial Revolution created a lot of jobs. And because of this, we don't have to hunt etc. It's convenient to just go to Wendy's and order a salad than to own a farm so you could make all the ingredients.

But what about the person taking my order behind the register? This person has probably had swollen feet for months. I don't think any amount of money can make up for that physical stress that they're enduring.

On the flip side. Calling a call center means I can talk to somebody about an issue I'm having with a product I just bought. This person has dry eyes from staring at a screen all day and their head hurts because they've been screamed out 10 times for something that they didn't even do wrong. They are miserable and they live for the weekend.

A man just fell off a building window cleaner machine because his boss needs that one side of the building cleaned by end of day. Just so the building can sparkle in the sun and impress clients.

Not all jobs are meant to exist.
