Previous termination and new job application?

Hello fellow anti-workers, I have a lead on a new job since getting fired from my previous one earlier this year for performance-based reasons (absolute bs cause my manager gave me good reviews). I left on very bad terms. The potential new job wants me to fill out the job application and bring it to the interview on Friday. I don't want to disclose I was terminated for obv reasons; don't wanna look bad even though my ex-employers were toxic AF. I do have to put the job down because it was in my resume and we discussed my experience in the interview. Have any of you had experience where you perhaps stretched the truth when asked the reason for leaving a job and said “looking for a better fit?” I'm scared it could show up on a background check. Also, is it ok to check “no” for may we…
