So, I'm noticing that most employers when you apply, ask about what your base salary would be when approached. I'm trying to move out of my field and into a tech field (which I found a nice gig work for 30/hr, probably gonna take it because why not). I'm currently employed through a warehouse shipping paint and I make 22/hr, which is no where close to what I want to actually be making. Im also in school so my wage will continuously go up once I graduate.
These employers seem to always question you on why you're asking for so much. I have 3 years of DC experience along with state certified training on two pieces of equipment, Reach Lift and Fork Lift, and even when I said 25/hour is what I'm willing to accept I get shot down. I mean, really? Employers really want to do nothing but attempt to squeeze everything out. They don't seem to understand that inflation is literally making people move to higher paying jobs, but won't pay higher.
