Ive worked so hard for this company for almost 12 years, doing countless hours overtime and always giving it my all, we had our first child last October, had 3 months off and came back to less hours. After 3 weeks i realised how awful the place is for my physical and mental well-being and handed in my notice today.
Used a standard template for letter then added this to it in the hopes that he realises and make my coworkers work lives better
I would like to explain some reasons why I am leaving:
I feel my skills and commitment to this company are not fully appreciated. I have put in 12 years of my life there and I am tired of working so hard compared to others for little reward.
I feel that the company treats its employees rather poorly- seen as simply money making tools, especially our apprentices who are given bad jobs and do not seem to learn valuable skills.
I don't want to be a part of the vestibule cab project any longer, as it has slowly worn me down into hating coming to work everyday.
I unfortunately cannot see this place improving but I hope I am wrong.
Recieved an email back today as I was unable to talk to my boss so I simply left the letter on his table
Email reads
I must say I’m disappointed with your resignation letter and your attack on the company and it’s staff.
Your statement surrounding the apprentices seem to be based around your cousin and circumstances regards his departure from the Fabrication Department and subsequent rejection for the Laser Operator role.
Our record as a whole has been above average with apprentices, and they have been provided with a safe work environment, equipped with all the relevant resources and tools to thrive.
The aim of any business is to generate revenue and make profits and I’m certain anyone whom is in business will attest to this. But as a side to that, Hancock Speedway, have always valued their staff, accommodated and been flexible if and when required. This is no different to your circumstance where we have allowed a family friendly flexible working arrangement so that you can spend quality time with your family. This is also in addition to the 3 months that you were away for the birth of your child.
What is of further disappointment is the fact that I spoke to you this morning, of which you made no comment or arranged a meeting to discuss your impending resignation, rather an envelope on my desk, attacking my company. This may well be a true reflection of your character.
I wish you well in the future and hope you find what you’re looking for. It’s apparent that you have issues working with others in a team environment, such a shame with someone of your skill set.
I accept your notice of resignation
