I need help asking for a raise

I started my job as a arborist/ line trimmer for $15 an hour. After 3 months I got a raise to $18 an hour and thought my hard work payed off only to realize they raised their hiring pay to $17 an hour. I kept quite because I liked the job and enjoyed learning a new trade. I feel I’m a better worker than 90%of my job and I’m not trying to be cocky I just feel disrespected at this point how should I go about this? Or should I just zip my lips and be grateful for what I have? Also I’ve never asked for…
