My boss promised me in my interview that I could finish my national certification. 3 months later he let me know that I’ll have to wait a minimum of 2 years for him to fulfill that promise.

In my career there is a national certification that only offers half the classes every year, forcing you to take two years to complete it. When I came to interview for my current position I was over halfway through. I made it clear that finishing this certification was important to me and asked if this office would allow me to do that. He promised me that A.) I'd be allowed to finish, and B.) I'd get a big raise when I did. Now, the month before the convention that has the only classes I need to finish my certification, he's decided to take other people in the office who have not even started their certification, and now will be able to complete their certifications in 2023, while I'll have to wait until 2024 to become certified (if I'm lucky). You don't keep your promises, I feel no need to stick around. Don't act surprised about it either.
