Corporations have kept workers rights to a minimum using the “if these people wont work we’ll hire people who will” method for many years, but because a good percentage of the workforce didn’t survive Covid there’s a smaller workforce than before. This smaller workforce has greater power for workers rights reform because there isn’t anyone else to replace them.
How are corporations combating this? By removing basic human rights and forcing society to breed more workers (a.k.a. doubling down on preventing gender autonomy and the right to safe abortions).
If you’re confused about how gender autonomy comes into play I’ll break it down into simple terms: the corporations need people that are compliant with conservative societal norms. They want things to stay the way they’ve been since the 1970’s and pay their employees less every year while churning out profit. To do this they lobby to remove citizens basic autonomy-especially at an early age-through whatever political party they can puppet (a.k.a republicans enacting ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill, LGBTQ discrimination, and anti-trans legislation).
