Food Service Complaints.

For starters I finally found a opportunity where I'm able to leave the foodservice industry and go to a job at a local hospital. At the minimum it's a $5 raise. I also get Vision, Life, Health, Dental, 401k, PTO, Sick Days among multiple other benefits. In my state small business restraunts barely have PTO let alone other benefits and pay at most $15 an hour. I find it funny how restraunt owners and boomers complain their favorite local sports bar has little to no staffing but there's several reasons for that. 1) There's no benefits outside of PTO and you may not even get that. 2) I can't imagine being a female and getting creeped on by 50 year old uncles. 3) Most places only benefit is 25% off a meal. There's no free meals anymore or free shift drinks. 4) Kitchen work especially Back of House is absolutely…

Unless you work in a well structured environment your hours are usually a mystery box. This is my experience in my state and may vary and I'm curious to hear what issues other states have. Also when are we gonna unionize kitchens or change the culture so people would want to work there.
