Hi y'all,
Made the below post here last week about being laid off and now I have an update.
They filled the role in ATL the very next day after I was told I was being fired, email went out congratulating and welcoming this person to the team.
I was advised originally my end date would be end of last week or mid this week. Boss called me Friday and advised they want me to stay on until 7/1, so that my insurance benefits will be active for another full month and I can continue helping with my projects during the transition.
I do not want to do this, but they're offering me a month of severance instead of the proposed two weeks and I need the money so even though I've mentally checked out and gained joy from the prospect of freedom for a while I need to pull myself back and grind out these last two weeks.
Decided to go back to school and stop working until I graduate (if possible).
So there it is. Seemingly kind? I can't tell.
