My employer didn’t give the employees off for 4th of July the past two years because the 4th fell on a weekend.

Since the 4th was on the weekend he didn’t give us off the following Monday in observance of the 4th. I used a personal day and took it off anyway. I just hope we get the 4th off this year since it falls on a Monday.
