Went on medical leave and everyone at work thinks that I quit

Been with the same company for 4 years, making 80k/year in Canada. I emailed my HR and president my medical note from my doctor saying I’m on temporary medical leave of absence. I gave in a note for one week and then extended it for a second week (doctor approved). My reason for taking medical leave was due to toxic work environment/burn out. One of the Project managers has been attempting to text and call me over the last 1.5 weeks during my medical leave and another coworker told me that everyone at work thinks that I quit and that some Project Managers (like the one trying to contact me) is pissed off that I’m gone because most of my roles/responsibilities have fallen on him and he has questions that need answering (when he should really be mad at management for putting me in this situation and not having the…

All of this to say, I have not had much peace from my company since taking medical leave and this is not helping with my anxiety and depression that has been caused by my terrible bosses and work environment/conditions. 60 hour work weeks as a Manager with no gratitude, dignity or support from my directors and owners. Never had a history of mental health issues until I joined this company. I prioritized them over everyone, including myself and it’s lead to depression. Just to be clear that I reached out to HR about my concerns and mental health over the past 2 years and I was told that they didn’t know how to help me. Oh, the HR department is one guy who is also the Director of Operations. Conflict of interest much? He also has no educational background in Human Resources, business or management.

All I want is to be happy again but I can’t just quit yet because I need my medical benefits to help me through this depression along with my partial salary to pay the mortgage.
