I worked night shifts as a manager in a four star hotel, for five years. While during the pandemic, the administration decided to freeze management salaries, as business was slow, unionised staff members were still getting there negotiated raises.
After two years of covid, they tried to justified the fact they were paying me about the same as a new hired by stating they didn't had budget and underlining I wasn't paying fees for the union to negotiate for me and therefore was saving on that amount and didn't need a larger pay than other employees even considering my position.
I left and now work day shift in a union as a clerk for another hotel chain for the same pay.
