Did you ever lie when they asked you your hourly wage at your previous job?

Got a job interview soon and the reason why is because my current job is dogshit when it comes to pay. It’s doable but I’m living paycheck to paycheck. I know that if my hourly wage was bumped up a few bucks I could take a breather and not worry so much about the paycheck to paycheck. Hypothetically: you make 10 bucks an hour and you know you need 12 bucks an hour to live comfy. Would you lie and tell them you made 11,95 bucks an hour so they have to up it to 12? Is there any way of them finding out?
