Finished my first week of training at a call center job, and I’m not sure I want to continue.

This type of call center consists of cold calling random numbers and getting them to complete a survey over the phone. Our goal is to get as many completed surveys as we could. It contains various questions regarding their child’s medical information and vaccine history. If the person refused, we would have to try and persuade them to stay on the phone. I felt so miserable trying to get their personal information. I can see why people over the phone told me to fuck off. I felt like I was a scammer, even though we sorta work for the government. My first real day of work starts in a few day and I’m contemplating not showing up. The shifts consists of 6 hours of continous cold calling and i’m not sure I’d be sane at the end of it. Also, our first day of training class had about 25 new hires and by the end, there was only 7 people left including me. I think they realized this type of job is terrible.
