My job thinks they have leverage

I’m so fed up with my job. I’ve been producing the work that will support their highest generating product, so I know I’m important. Everyone else has quit and I’ve only stuck around because I’m trying to get my ducks in a row first. I’m almost at my last straw. I told them I was going to need time off for a life event (I gave them a very close time range and the number of days I’d need) and they were soOoOo supportive of it until I gave them the exact dates. Now they’re whining that it’ll be too hard because it’s close to when they need to take advantage of me some more. This isn’t negotiable. I am telling, not asking. They’ve used and abused me AND they think they have leverage here? Dream on. I only wish I wasn’t juggling multiple other stressful life events right now. I’ve had multiple places reach out to me unprompted, but I don’t have the bandwidth to pursue them. Maybe it’s time to make time.
