Quitting before having another job lined up?

In short, I would like to ask if this is a good idea given my situation? I work for this company for about 8 months now. Everything was going well in the earlier period of my employment. However, last month, I had an incident with my boss that did not end very pretty. Long story short, I asked him for a sick leave but he denied it because he needed me to get my job done. It struck me as a surprise because I always tried to accommodate him and rarely took a leave. The one time I needed to take care of my health, he denied it. Plus, he also accused me of lying about my sickness, in which I became really upset about and cried.

After noticing me sobbing, he pulled me into his office and told me that I am like a child who cries and the workplace isn't childcare. Of course, being an anxious person, I did not talk back and just nodded.

Another incident happened just yesterday. 2 of my colleagues and I forgot to turn off the AC before leaving the office, so my boss threatened to fire all of us in front of our senior colleagues. It is so embarrassing.

And just today, he called me into his office and gave me a feedback on my performance review I had submitted last week. He told me that he had given me the chance to be professional but somehow I'm not changing. He said it is not working out, and that he does not like the current team and plans to restructure and make many people lose their jobs.

Even though he did not blatantly fire me, I feel like I'm going to be fired soon. I don't get it. I always try to do my work on time and disengage with others to avoid drama. I could not even defend myself when he was giving me poor performance review.

I want to quit really bad because he has been making me increasingly anxious. I don't have any job lined up for me. I have some savings though, so should I risk it anyways?
