I quit and am not allowed to tell my coworkers

I quit 2 weeks ago on Wednesday and have a notice period of a few weeks. With my remaining PTO my last day will be this week on Friday. My manager wants to tell the team together that I am leaving and says he needs to prepare some stuff. He wanted to announce it the week I quit, then he postponed to last week, now we still haven't told anyone. I have asked multiple times if I can't do it myself if he is too busy, but no.

I asked again this morning if we could do it, he said we will do it tomorrow afternoon. So there will be 3 days to left to work then.

My problem is, that I have some topics I need to hand over to people, but I need to know who will be taking over. I have to sit through meetings planning my involvement in the next quarters instead of giving the others important information they need to work.

I was thinking of telling them myself so I can hand off the topics, but the manager has been really adamant about waiting.

This feels kind of crazy to just be like: “I will be gone on Friday” to my coworkers. like the notice periods in my country are usually used to hand over work and tasks, but I am not getting the time to do this and get assigned more tasks by my immediate supervisor (who is also not informed, because I am not allowed to). I guess for now I will just wait and see.
