I work in CANADA for a billion dollar global corporation, Ecolab, they love to blow smoke up their own asses with slogans and “shout outs” and verbal praise. It’s essentially a pyramid scheme;
I’m a ground level service technician, me and 40,000 other people like me are where all the companies billables come from. Basically, we make all the money for the entire organization.
Most of my colleagues at my level can’t miss a paycheck or they’d go in debt, meanwhile the executives are all millionaires, paid 3 times; their salaries, their bonuses, their stock shares, (and the personal loans they can take against that collateral, so FOUR TIMES paid)
We aren’t allowed to talk about salaries “as per our offer letter”, they say it’s confidential, i literally have an email from HR telling me I’m not allowed to discuss compensation.
We have no voice, and no choice, if we are unhappy with our wages or our option is to be quiet or to quit. No allowed to unionize, my district tried a decade ago and everybody got fired.
We are discouraged from voicing real opinions on group chats, instead they rather we lie and tell them everything is good! Any negative comments online get deleted or your account gets reported and banned because they have that much pull with social media.
At Ecolab, it’s just another version of slavery, a modern ancient Egypt building golden tombs and towers for the pharaohs, and We are wage slaves, it’s pathetic…I’m doing everything I can to escape the hypocrisy and work for a local company with real work ethic and morals. Better yet, i don’t want to leave, My clients and colleagues love me and I’m great at what I do, I rather change the organization from within.
The way I see our CEO christophe Beck, is as some hotshot restaurant owner with a nice car and a hot young 3rd wife, meanwhile the kitchen is disgusting and the staff is miserable. He’s a Shortsighted tool of the corporate swindle structure.
