I'm a temp
My current contract holder changed the requirements for the position, and in doing so is no longer in need of my services.
Contacted my agency let them know. “They never told us this, thanks for letting us know.” They found me a bunch of new better paying offers “Since they aren't contacting us, can you do me a favor and ask them if they will require 2 weeks notice from you.”
I decide to play nice, all my immediate co-workers are amazing people who I genuinely made friendships with so I think it would be unfair to them to just flip the doublebird. During the delivery conversation the higher up who alerts me to these changes was very wishy washy constant “we are happy to keep working with you, but the requirements for the job are changing so feel free to look for new jobs.” Lots of non commital BS to the extent that my direct superior literally said “you can probably keep working here forever since theyre all spineless, I'm sure as hell not going to remind the executives you're here” he also confirms to just find something asap since no one seems to want to commit to pulling the trigger on giving me a real date but directs me to our interim HR person, who is literally just the companies onsite legal representation covering for our HR rep while they're on vacation… for 3 weeks…
The interim HR person says the same thing lots of “we want you to keep working with us and we want you here but that's changing soon.”
At this point im fielding interviews and just leaving early/coming in late so I can be at the interviews. Let them say something honestly at this point I'll just laugh.
