We were a company of 20+ employees, the owner of the company is the same person running the day-to-day operations, everything was smooth for a year or so, then he decided to add an extra day of work, people began to leave, the 20 employees whittled down to just 9, 3 developers left (me included), no health or dental insurance, salary is on the lower side of the spectrum, he decides to call me on my weekend and told me to work 12 extra hours on my weekend, that was the straw that broke the camel's back, I handed my resignation email right there and then, found a job at the direct rivals, 45% increase in pay, health and dental insurance included and just a better run company with 100+ employees.
I've hung him to dry since there's no direct backup for my position, but I don't care.
