To preface this; I am very fortunate enough to live somewhere not terribly affected by the war with Ukraine and Russia. I am very thankful for that and my heart goes out to them.
Talking with my fiance today about rising gas prices due to the war. He mentioned his coworker having to drive about an hour to work, meaning he is filling his tank just about every other day. A half tank is $50. They make $18 an hour. With gas prices continuing to rise, are people going to not be able to afford to even go to work? Wages have never reflected the economy, but we have also never seen inflation on this bad of a scale. It feels like just yesterday I was talking with him about how when milk becomes $15 a gallon and minimum wage in my state stays 12.30 people are going to ask wtf is even the point of working. People argue we're on the brink of collapse but I truly think it's all already collapsing.
