Since a long time, I've had the view point that Indians are very acceptable towards “oppression” for example, A few years ago the government announced demonetisation (they illegalised the most worthy ₹1000 and ₹500 notes that weren't deposited in banks) this led to MANY suicides and not much of protests (they did happen but not on a scale as people were scared or black/white earned money they lost as they didn't deposit in the banks) This was very unfair as during the time it happened, many people didn't even had a bank account because of lack of documentation now with the worker system in India, the minimum wages have been around (₹5000 pm = $67 pm) while costs of food electricity and education have been fluctuating all this time. According to the “government's” $67 pm, 80 million people live below the poverty line today in India. Now imagine how many people “actually” are living below poverty standards while big corporations of our country are still flourishing. I don't think this post or this subreddit would even go trending on the news in India like it did in the US but atleast a hitting a checkpoint towards making a movement is a start. I'm open to opinions from residents of other countries and ofcourse people of India on this subreddit as being 16 I haven't actually been exposed to all the ground reports lmao
