I've been with this company for a bit more than a year and a half now.
I work as a sales-agent, always reaching my target and much beyond that when it comes to amount of sales. I never took a day off except a Saturday for about 18 months.
Recently, a new manager joined and became my sales manager, the guy is a real snake and a liar but I won't get into that now.
He basically hates my guts because I make more than him, I always try to be friendly with him but he started to get on my nerves in the last couple of months because he restricts my resources to close more deals.
I had a lead come in three weeks ago, he wanted to go ahead with a huge purchase, so I obviously kind of closed the sale with him and had to forward it to the higher management since it's a big purchase.
After asking for an update about him for two weeks and not getting a response, yesterday I decided to call him just to follow up and see if he is taken care properly, you know, a professional follow up on a lead. The main reason me calling is because I had a feeling the managers wanted to take the credit and deny me from getting my commission on the big sale.
He thanked me for calling and said that everything's alright.
Today I got a call from my manager and his manager (which used to be close to me until the new guy came in – I did everything he asked, even risking my health for the sake of it), they shouted at me that I wasn't right to call him, that I'm not the boss or some manager that I'm entitled to do that, and that I'm ordered to come to an hearing. We then ended the call.
5 Minutes later I messaged my manager this (not a quote):
Hi, I thought about it, I won't be coming to the hearing.
I don't think there is a rightful reason for me to arrive, I haven't done anything wrong and since we haven't spoken in the past couple of months, I personally think that you're being influenced negatively by other people's talks about me (obviously the new sales manager).
You guys haven't instructed me NOT to call the lead and I think me doing so doesn't justify a hearing.
If you like to, you can fire me right now, I don't deserve being treated this way after all I've done for you and this company for the past year and a half.
He didn't respond yet, they put me on leave for now.
I literally gave this job my health, I started suffering anxiety because of it and had arguments with family members because I can't attend family events since I took the job on a serious level which now I regret.
Gave them about 7 mil USD revenue in sales since I joined and this is how I'm being treated….unbelievable.
